Reality

I'm sitting in my black and white house Looking at the white picket fence Outside the picture window I see my dog sleeping in the sun. I sit on the couch and see my husband Opposite me, in a chair He's reading a newspaper and I smile. He smiles back at me, not questioning the reason. My two beautiful children bounce in. My little blond haired girl And my blue eyed son, So perfect and innocent. Here come the neighbors to visit. I'm sitting in my black and white house Looking at a spider on the wall And thinking about sex. I hear my one-eyed puppy barking. I lay on my bed and feel emptiness Enveloping me like a plague. I feel it grinning at me. I frown and try to shrug it off, knowing that I can't. Ah, here come the tears tumbling down And here comes the guilt to eat at me. My two faithful companions So painful and relentless I invite death to stay awhile.
